The IBPS full form is the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. IBPS is an independent organization that organizes online exams for recruiting officers, clerks and trainees in the public sector of the banks in India. It is based in Mumbai, India. - In the year 1975, it became operational as Personnel Selection Services (PSS).
- With the acceptance of RBI i.e Reserve Bank of India and banks of the public sector, it became an independent body in 1984.
- For recruiting the candidates in public sector banks, the Common Written Examination (CWE) was started in the year 2011.
Now, CWE of IBPS is compulsory for getting employment in the public sector or the banks of rural areas.
