IBPS Full Form

The IBPS full form is the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. IBPS is an independent organization that organizes online exams for recruiting officers, clerks and trainees in the public sector of the banks in India. It is based in Mumbai, India. It has a different set of exams for different positions. Below I’m mentioning the detailed information of the exams that take place for particular positions. Take a look:-

Governing Board handles all the conducts of IBPS. Its directors act as the chief executive officer and handle all the tasks and duties with the help of Divisional heads. The current Chairman and Managing Director of IBPS is Shri Ashwani Kumar.

Regular online exams are conducted by IBPS. All online exam applications are accepted on the official website and are conducted in various locations across the country.

Brief History

  • In the year 1975, it became operational as Personnel Selection Services (PSS).
  • With the acceptance of RBI i.e Reserve Bank of India and banks of the public sector, it became an independent body in 1984.
  • For recruiting the candidates in public sector banks, the Common Written Examination (CWE) was started in the year 2011.

Now, CWE of IBPS is compulsory for getting employment in the public sector or the banks of rural areas.
